sennheiser isn't good until you start going up to the 400 range

go with AKG

Nup, even their $50 HD201's kick ass. They have excellent bass response and aren't muddy.

go to amazon.  im shocked that you wanna waste $300 on some stupid headphones.

What in the actual forget. First off, "go to amazon" doesn't even help in this thread. Second, some people like music or just good high quality sound. Maybe he needs high quality for "studio" recording?

I can guarantee that your $25 headset doesn't have "quality sound n stuff" in the spectra of headphone qualities.

Don't forget to get a good DAC those 'phones (they really aren't that expensive). Using your motherboard's just won't cut it if you want actual quality.

Well what sounds good to you won't sound good to an audiophile, trust me, I know one.  :cookieMonster:

everybody knows about amazon.com, OP is asking for specific headphone models.

And just because you're happy with your $25 setup doesn't mean that's what the OP wants. Indulging in a good audio set up is like the equivalent of going to some posh restaurant instead of mcdonalds; you might be fine with eating at mcdonalds, but you'll get the really quality stuff at the posh restaurant.

I suppose I might be able to help and stuff. What sound signature are you looking for? (Clean, warm, brown townytical, bass-heavy, treble-heavy) and have you ever looked into head-fi? They're a bunch of audiophile snobs. And what was said before, definitely look into getting a DAC for good headphones. Makes a world of difference.

I this good enough to get me by? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053KWDES/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A34JWT04R7KMFW
that just an amp here http://www.amazon.com/electronics/dp/B003N0XDT4

Also I listen to a lot of bass-heavy electro and house kinda stuff.
its brickmans head if hes telling me that dac is good, hes helping
