Author Topic: Really annoying virus (MySearchDial)  (Read 8511 times)

Put malwarebytes on a usb and boot from safe mode. change your homepage back to google, done
I'm just gonna quote this for later reference

Malwarebytes.
Microsoft security essentials.
Ccleaner.
I once got a virus, my parents paid some guy to fix it, and these are the programs he installed.
They all work wonderfully.
Security essentials can do 24/7 monitoring and scheduled scan.
Malwarebytes can get rid of viruses security essentials cant.
And ccleaner can delete temporary files to speed up your computer, fix registry issues, and delete/uninstall ANY file you want.
And they're all free.

Wait why use all these programs? You can just uninstall it through Control Panel. All the stuff I've got from cnet was removable simply through the Control Panel, whether virus or not.

read op and it's obvious

one does not simply delete a virus

one does not simply delete a virus
and anyone who does is a loving genius

read op and it's obvious

Yeah but if he knows that it left behind garbage why not remove them manually? Sometimes anti-viruses won't pick these up because the files left behind are rendered useless. Just delete the registry files manually and any other files left behind to remove it completely.

Because i'm extremely paranoid about viruses and such, i always think, what if the anti-virus didn't detect it?
so i'm gonna be obsessed over that for a while

i'm going to try these programs

i did that before i used system restore, they kept comming back.

Then it didn't get removed. Dig deeper on your own or use Malwarebytes.

Since you did a system restore it should be gone now. If not use rkill to terminate it, then use Malwarebytes to remove it.
