Author Topic: Primer/"Need to have" Mod's?  (Read 1316 times)

I've been out of BL for a while and decided to come back in and was wondering what are the new standard maps and mod's to get?
If you guy's don't have any ideas I'll just go to RTB and get some brick, weapon and vehicle packs but I was just wondering if there is anything special?

I already searched for a topic like this but only found a good one - from 2005. -_-
Any suggestions would be nice, and the best ones would be if you didn't pick what just you liked, but what you've been seeing on all the servers.
Thanks!

Return to blockland is the big one.
Then duplicator, fillcan, and slayer.

If you want you can also get a colorset (probably trueno's) a weapon pack (tier tactical is probably the most used) some brick packs (jvs content was very popular, but I guess it's a bit dated now)

jvs are still superior to default doors.

Why does it sound like you've been gone for a while but your most recent post was around august of 2012?

You even have screenshots with shadows in them, so you should know what we have.

If only the default doors were smaller in size.
Then they'd be just fine.

Agreed, I wasn't used to the default door's height, so I had to adjust my building some.

Quick notes:

If you get the fill can, be sure to get the "fixed" version, as it doesn't cause errors with decal application. The current RTB version should do.

If you use JVS doors, do NOT download JVS_Content unless you wish to. A default replacement called "script_legacydoors" is available, as JVS_Content apparently had a crapton of problems.

Tophius, General, and many others have also created a huge n' wide variety of bricks that emulate LEGO bricks themselves, many of which can be found on RTB, so keep an eye out for 'em!

Bushido has created the massive "Tier+Tactical" add-on weapons and tools, and even a lil' set of auto-sentry guns. However, it's up to you if you want those or not. They are fairly ubiquitous and colorful as a set of guns, though.

Blockland currently has a default bot system, so there are some add-ons which might be helpful if you wanna do stuff with those, such as input events for when bots are damaged, etc. etc.

VCE (variable conditional events) remains a useful events set for pretty much anything.

There's a lot of stuff to consider, really. You should pick n' choose what you want, my suggestions are pretty lame.

You DO download jvs_content because support_legacydoors doesn't allow for much customization and is therefor crap.
