Author Topic: Upcoming Gamemode: Treasure Trails  (Read 1104 times)

I'm posting this to notify people of my gamemode that is nearly finished (basically in testing phases now).

A basic summary of the gamemode: Rotation of maps in which there are 20+ chests, from which around 5 randomly get selected at the beginning of each round. The first person to find them all wins the round... Rinse and repeat.

I've got one problem though: I don't want to only use default builds because that would be boring. So I guess this post is asking for people to either build something and hide a bunch of treasure chests, take your favorite build (whether it's yours or not, I don't care - just make sure to include credit to the original creator!) and hide chests in it, and either post them to this topic or PM them to me so that I can package them and set the map rotation up. I would prefer that they have mostly default bricks and the default colorset.

I'll edit this to be the official topic later, but for now it'll remain as a "preview" and request.

The build?

Never mind.

Seems cool, but I don't have any builds to do. You should try and get the NWB museum, that would be cool.

im the king of sliding puzzles.

Not to detract from the excitement, but it seems that after people find the chests for the first time, a great deal of the motivation and adventure of the game will be lost. After finding the chests once, I can only imagine people trying to find the fastest path to each one, making it inevitably easy for those who have played, and impossibly difficult for those who are new to the game. I'm sure it will be fun nevertheless!

EDIT: After thinking a bit more, only choosing 5 of the 20 might add a little spin to it. Who knows. Oh, I have a nice map for this but I am not placing the chests, and it's not all default bricks, sorry.

Is this from runescape?

SPO's default bricks castle build would probably do well

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I went into the randomization process.. It's like, you COULD go for the quickest path to the ones from last round, but there's no 100% guarantee they'll be there and so you're probably better off just searching again... It might hit a problem once people have memorized each of the 20 for the full map rotation, but hopefully that'll be after I get another map rotation ready.
