Oh, it's stuff because the game developers didn't want to make a Linux port?
That's a stuffty ass reason.

Anyone who dismisses a distro for being "for casuals" hasn't used Linux very long.

As someone who has used Linux for a long time, you learn that every distro is as good as the next because it all ends up being whatever you make it to be.

what the forget does this even mean

Gaming is a hobby of mine and Linux is not very good at that.

why

Just ignore him, he doesn't have a standpoint, he just wants you to bitch at him.

but it's stuff to him. i don't think he meant it's stuff in general, just in his situation since the games aren't for linux and he owns a lot of them.

Left 4 Dead 2 for Linux appears to run very well on my computer, even better than the Windows version. Mednafen is an amazing all-in-one emulator, and runs better than most of the ones for Windows. Dolphin for Linux seems to be more stable than the Windows version. I still don't understand what you're getting at.

It's totally fine if you use it. It's just not for me. If you were for example using it for work it would be good to use. Same goes for Mac.

EDIT:

Btw please don't do this:

I like to keep forum things in the forum.

My point is that I like to be able to play all my games, not just the ones that happen to have Linux support.

Nothing is better than a little self-experience.
You couldn't have just said "Cause it doesn't have as much game support."
Don't know about you but I don't like to figure out something was a bad choice on my own, especially knowing that someone else knows the outcome already.

How well does Steam work for Linux? I basically need it to work decent for the 3 following:
Another browser such a Chrome, Firefox, ect
Spotify
And Steam.

Well you're set, because it supports all of that.

Edit: Also, for your first distro I would recommend Ubuntu or Elementary OS.  Also install cpufrequtils as soon as you install Linux because holy hell does it get hot if you don't.

Well it's not Linux's fault that the games aren't on Linux. That's the damn developer's fault. You can't blame Linux for that.

Never did. I just said it isn't my thing.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind.
The only game I really play on this PC is Blockland btw.

but you can blame linux for being too hard to work with for the game developers if they tried to port it over and couldn't.

The problem is that it's not worth porting over because too few people use it.
