Author Topic: World war Z: The Movie Damn you Hollywood!  (Read 1149 times)

Yeah I'm pretty sure you've seen the trailers and stuff, and you might have even read the book. I'm pretty disappointed that they just threw the book out the window :(

Have any of you seen it yet? Is it any good?

Another victim of Hollywood.

I'd like to read the book then.

Based on the trailer it looked pretty stuffty, so I'm most likely not going to see that.

Im going to see it with my daddy later this week :)

Yep, looks just like a basic run of the mill zombie action thriller.

Have fun, and lemme know what you think about it.

apparently its pretty good, got pretty good reviews and friends of mine that watched it thought it was good. i never read the book so i doubt i would care when i was watching it.

I'm getting tired of the zombie fad myself, yet more Walking Dead seasons still come out(I liked the first season) and more DayZ like games keep coming.

Apparently, the movie was originally going to have The Lobo in it, but it was only used in one specific scene.
The article ending also explains why Matthew Fox was cast for such a small role.

Article: (Might have MAJOR spoilers about the movie, be weary. I wouldn't reccomend reading if you havent seen the movie yet.)

Either way, i still think the movie would be bad. A "band of brothers" style TV series, with each episode retelling a story would be way better though.

My Dad and I went and saw it today. I liked it.

From what I heard about the book there were some things that would make people rage. One example being that aircraft munitions like Cluster bombs and MOABs have no effect on zombies(these types of ordinance would shred or splatter human bodies), don't forget napalm bombs. Also the military's decision to adopt balloon airships.

World War Z the movie was good imo.

I didn't really read the book, though.

So.. it should not be the beginning of the war, like in the movie; instead, various survivalist stories of different people?

I for one enjoyed the movie to its full extent.

i liked the movie and the book, both were pretty different though

Yeah I was surprised how easily the militaries gave up

Pretty much in the book it's a bunch of different views on the war, it could be survival, or political, there are even a couple military ones in there. It's like a documentary.
