Does anyone have any good methods for getting Moths out of a room?

It's that time of the year (Summer to Autumn) where Moths pretty much invade.
And I really really really hate them, and also have a fear of them.
I could never touch one or try to grab one in tissue, or with a cup or something.

I know that the best thing to do is try and prevent them getting in at all, which tends to consists of ensuring lights are off in my room, and the window is closed.
But it gets stuffy through the day, so I like the window open.
And it gets dark at night (obviously) and I can't see, so I need the light on (or the light from my PC monitor attracts them in).
So, other than that, I always keep my net curtain and my actual curtain closed, to try and stop them getting in through the window or being attracted by the light.

Anyway, that seems to do stuff all, and even if it is somewhat effective, some still get in.
And it's always the biggest forgeters.
And they fly in and out of my paper lamp-shade for the ceiling light, and make this horrible noise, or they fly at my computer or TV while I'm using them.

So, what is the best pansy method to get rid of them?
I can't touch them. Not happening.
I could get my Dad to try and get it, but by the time I get him, it's hidden somewhere else to come out later, or it's late at night and I piss him off by waking him to get a moth.

And I always imagine it will work, but the idea of turning off all the lights in my room, and turning on the landing light and opening the door for them to flutter out into, really doesn't do a thing.
Apparantly moths are attracted to light, but only when I don't want them to be.

Please help.  :panda:

Feed them some nice food and read them a bedtime story every night. Take them on a tour around the house and let them meet the family. Take them to the playground and help them use the swings and monkey bars. Take them to the moth park to play with other moths in the area. After several years they will be all grown up and ready to take on the world by themselves. Then set them free with a little money so they can follow their dreams :)

Bugzapper
watch them flash to death

Get a little mesh to put around your window.

Turn off your lights and turn brightness down on screens?

hairspray
I'm not a woman.
The only aerosols in my house are Deodorants and Anti-Perspirants.

It's worth mentioning, I have a really small and cramped room, that doesn't have the worlds greatest ventilation.
Spraying them is an option, but I'd prefer not choking for an age.
Or wasting all my deodorant.

If I turn off my lights, I can't see much.
Which is problematic when on the PC, as I have difficulty typing in the dark (despite being able to touch-type, weirdly).
I can change the brightness on my TV, but my PC monitor has a completely forgeted up brightness/contrast settings, and it's only just bearable. Messing with it will mean I won't be able to see most things on screen.

And I can't really turn the lights off when I'm in bed reading. :3

Hmmm.... Very tempting...

But what if I'm not ready to be a moth mummy? :(

It's time

why are you afraid of ugly butterflies?

why are you afraid of ugly butterflies?
Because they're fat, ugly, stupid shaped (evil triangles!), furry, dark, impossible to predict their movements and they flap/flutter about a lot.

I like butterflies.
I don't like moths.

I might try getting my cat to sleep in the room with me.
She eats moths. They make a really horrible crunch.

Bugzapper/light outside
maybe buy a screen

I thought it said mouth remover for a second there

I'm having the same issues with the smaller ones and gnats* (except the scared part), very annoying.  My screen for my PC is barely high at all on the brightness settings, and I really don't have my light on much in the dark.  My window is closed off with an air conditioner (my room gets really really hot, so my room needed it), but I don't see how they can get in through the air conditioner because the vents are close off with filters...

Buy a screen.  Your first mistake was opening your window without the screen.
