I'm Mikejor Dan, and I'm an airline pilot for McDonalds Olympics Mountain Dew COD airline.

Discuss your love of airlines and airports.

Fiumicino Airport, or it's full name Fiumicino – Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (Fiumicino – Aeroporto International socialistonale Leonardo da Vinci) is Italy's largest Airport.

It's an absolute stuffhole.
Half-built terminals that don't even appear to have been worked on in months if not years.

Areas of the airport have no lights.

The place is filthy.

Water drips down from the ceiling and forms puddles on the floor.

Also, it's full of Italians.

I'm Osama Bin Laden, and I'm an airline pilot for Al Qaeda airline.

ITS TRUE ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS!!!

Currently working towards an ATP so I can fulfill my desire to become an airline pilot :)

Here we witness a homoloveual gene be passed one through the bundle of sticks, forming a friend. Watch as it mates with the joke, changing the friend into a friend joke.

Sit Dooble, isn't it the base of Alitalia?

Send me pics Mikoyan!

Yes.

When I travelled to Rome this Easter we landed in Fiumicino, and it was probably one of the worst airports I've ever been to.

To be honest actually, as far as I have witnessed, that seems to be quite a trend with airports in the Mediterranean.
The 3 or 4 airports I've been to in Greece were pretty dire too.

Ew.

What airline did you fly on?

EasyJet, who are the UK's second-largest low-cost airline.

You sometimes hear little horror stories about flying with the cheaper airlines, but for the short 4 hour journey from Bristol Airport to Fiumicino, it was actually a really nice flight.

And since this was a college-trip to Rome, it was a much better deal to fly on one of the cheaper airlines.
I think I'd be happy flying with them again.

you should become a pilot for the airforce

hm well it's nothing special yet. All I've aquired is my Private Pilot's liscence with an instrument rating (single engine). Planning on racking up some hours in single engines aircraft then I plan on going into college and getting my multi-engine Instrument rating/commercial liscence and go from there.

stuff
you should become a pilot for the airforce
Thought about it for a long time but its just easier to go commercial plus I'll be able to go a lot more places should I choose to apply for an international airline.

the military gives you a serious reference tho. a buncha airline pilots started out in the airforce. an airline would probably be more eager to hire an ex-airforce pilot than someone right out of college. plus if you go to the airforce academy, tuition and board (maybe food too?) are free
I understand not wanting to join tho

I've read and heard from my dad's buddies (He was Captain of an E-3 in the AF for a while retired now) that there's gonna be an extreme shortage of airline pilots in the next 5-10 (I think) years 'cause all the old men are retiring.

airports are mini bureaucracies

Idk if i could be an airline pilot. My vision is 20/25 and 20/35.
