Author Topic: Finally got to see my dad...  (Read 1803 times)

I do, but it would be so much easier if I actually felt like he was my father. IIRC, the first time I saw him since I was two was around 4 years ago, 34 visits since then, most of them were really short, and they were all filled with excuses on why he couldn't even try to call me.
I dont need gifts from my dad to know he is my dad lol

"oh he wants gifts lol better call him a greedy bastard"

come on. if his father's going to be such a richard as to spend barely any time with his son may as well bring something to give to his son as a sign that he still loves his kid.

Can't tell if you're acting greedy because of just being a bad person or because your dad is a bad person.

something tells me his father isn't deliberately ducking out of being with his son lol
probably a work thing, not a richard at all

AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF OF HIM DROPPING OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH FOR 3 MONTHS EVERY FEW WEEKS.

Clearly he's a intergalactic warrior, or a alien hybrid whose goal is to destroy the human race.

When you dad decides to never show up, Never do anything for you, or just not be there when you need him, you start to not see him as a dad anymore. My "dad" only does things with me and my brother because it makes him feel good about himself.

OP I can relate.

You dont see him as a dad anymore, but as a gift giver.

Yeah. I know. Im greedy. But its also the only thing I could think of.
No, really. Don't.

i'm 19
haven't seen my dad since i was ~7 years old
i don't want to say i know what you're feeling because you're feeling that gifts are the most important thing right now
but yeah

"dad welcome back!"

"i'm so glad i can be here!"

"yeah so where's my birthday and christmas presents, old man?"

I'd suggest spending time with your dad rather wanting gifts from him, my dad died in 2011 and I regret not spending enough time with him. Appreciate what you have in life.

you get to see your dad and you're thinking of gifts
seriously op
