why would you? did you do anything wrong?
The you have nothing to hide bullstuff excuse again. If you have nothing to hide, would you mind leaving all your blinds and windows open?

The government for one thing. Knowing what people search means they have a greater ability to play into their fears and desires.
Surveillance is bad for a lot of reasons, but this is just ridiculous. Loosen up your tinfoil hat.

Leaving all your blinds and curtains open is different than some random guy working in a facility learning that you searched "bananas" last thursday.

oh you're on of those
Do you seriously not see the loving fearmongering going on in the government? Apparently anybody who looks suspicious can be a terrorist. There was a radio ad (sponsored by the NJ Office of Homeland Security) where a actress suggested calling the police on someone who "looked around nervously and had fidgety hands." You're handicapped.

there's a big difference from the government watching what you search and the government watching you take a stuff through your window

The government isn't a movie villain.

I seriously don't care if some organization knows about everything I do on the internet. I'm not a terrorist, and I haven't made plans to kill people. It's just dumbass keyboard warriors freaking out about anything that breaches their privacy.

Your choice does not equal other's choices. I'd personally like to keep my privacy even if I'm not doing anything wrong because this is America.

You're one of those teenage rebel scrubs who post stuff about how much they hate the government and how evil the whole world is.

Thank your fellow countrymen for screwing that up for you.

Speaking of exaggerated responses

You guys do realize that it's not just you who are being observed? Sure, it may not apply to you, but the government is not above using smear tactics to destroy or impede their political enemies.

How would you know that? Do you study the governments behaviour or do you just follow all the cool rebel kids on tumblr?

Whatever makes you feel pretty. I'm not too fond of people who can't interpret basic opinion and twist it into something that's not correct.

Government is necessary and by no means do I want to get rid of it. Big government, on the other hand, is bad. I don't need big brother leaning over my shoulder all the time and I'd like to avoid that.

It's happened before. Ever hear of J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI?
Quote from: wikipedia
COINTELPRO was first used to disrupt the Communist Party, where Hoover went after targets that ranged from suspected everyday spies to larger celebrity figures such as Charlie Chaplin who were seen as spreading Communist Party propaganda,[32] and later organizations such as the Black Panther Party, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Southern Christian Leadership Conference and others. Its methods included infiltration, burglaries, illegal wiretaps, planting forged documents and spreading false rumors about key members of target organizations.
