It also says that you shouldn't eat pork
Well for the longest time pigs were used to clean city streets and eat up our garbage. As you could imagine there were a ton of germs swimming around in pigs, but people didn't understand the idea of microbes back then so they thought that if you got sick it was because a demon or something cursed you. Also depending on what the animal eats is what gives it it's flavor. A I'd take a grain fed pig over a garbage fed pig any day. Thankfully with selective breeding and proper diet we have breed safer to eat pigs.

It's interesting how so many rules of religions have a basis in things that were simply practical (if very, very outdated).
Not that the "homo clause" is, was, or ever will be based in anything practical at all.

Whoever wrote the bible probably saw two gay guys and thought, "I hate that for some reason, better make people hate it with me for no reason", also I think the Quran and Torah also have something written against homoloveuality.

the idea behind the original putting down of homoloveuality is similar to the putting down of procrastination (they saw it as a waste of sperm, not knowing at the time that sperm is essentially endless in the male body), which is that they saw it as a waste and that it prevented potential reproduction

I have rage towards this

Probably an attention seeking male made that.

That's brown townly handicapped.

There's another account just like it underneath that.

Hmmm.
So it was based on what they thought was practical.
It really is interesting seeing religion dissected into its historical context.

Probably a lonely 40 year old man seeking attention made that.
Quite possibly but I've seen 13-y-os talking about their love lives.
Was disgisting.

*cough* Skullcandy *cough*
Ephialtes has a really applicable quote but I can't get it cause 3ds.

oh yeah. i remember all that "skull candy's a guy" bullstuff, and it was really a mess even if it is true, which it is

People need to stop quoting the Bible when they don't know their stuff.

Honestly the bible has so many contradictions and possible interpretations and is so often taken out of context that it shouldn't be considered a "valid source" at all.

Even though the bible has some good morals in it, which you could figure out without the need for a made up god. A majority of it is full of bullstuff and has no reason. It's an awful book to base your morals on. Religion can do good, but it's been the reason for tons and tons of stuff. Nobody has ever committed genocide in the name of atheism. Sure you can be a loving awful human being if your an atheist, but tons of people have done awful stuff in the name of their god.
