Maps were removed because they caused updates to be slow
It was either maps, or very slow updates.
I'm sorry, but they are not coming back.
I suggest you lock it now.

Something about slowing down updates, not allowing for some of the things we have today(?), i don't quite recall, but it was something along those lines

The shadows, shaders, and real-time environment modifying and AI helps the game look fresh and new thus helping with raking in sales and boosting popularity

There is a way to play an older version of Blockland with the maps, but you won't be able to play online, only singleplayer and LAN (only if that other person has the same version as you)
