IMO, I always hated terrain and interiors, especially the latter.  I never felt like bricks and interiors meshed well visually.  Now that I think of it, I never did play on or even see a terrain or interior map that had brick-top textures instead of low-res grass, dirt, or wood.  They also limited what people were willing to do.  Have you noticed how there has been a significant increase in good looking servers, and a collective disappearance of camping and skiing servers?  Now all we gotta do is figure out how to get rid of family RPs, then serious progress could be made towards creating a really great server.

Lock this topic please, resistance is futile, your purpose shall not pass.  Give up and either enjoy the beauty of shadows, shaders, and the many coming updates, download an old version of blockland and play alone, or don't play blockland and go to The Orange Block or TBM and enjoy interiors there.

Interiors and Terrain aren't coming back for a good amount of time, so I suggest you just wait it out and download a older version of Blockland. If it were possible I would like to have I&T and also have shaders, but that would lag even more than it does now.

I+T aren't coming back at all, at least not in the same shape as the left, not in the same format.

And I always thought a major reason for not having both was because the roofs and ceilings of interiors would create shadows under it, and essentially would darken the entire room, eliminating the point in S+S.

thats how it works now though with brick buildings. it wouldn't work any different.

It's not functionality I'm getting at, it's that any covering interiors would change the appearance of s+s.

Imagine beta city completely covered by baseplates, where no 'light' reaches the beta city bricks, as compared to beta city uncovered.  In the uncovered scenario, outlines of buildings and beams of light would be seen streaming through the windows, whereas in the covered version, everything is in shadow, and the loveiness of S+S don't exist.
