animals steal all the time lol

Why don't people cry when animals murder other animals?
Because its in their nature.

Because its in their nature.

yeah, they don't have a brain like us which can alter their natural instincts.

Because there are forgettons of the same spices (some). God forbid after humans are gone dogs and cats still exist.

Because when most people have a dog, or cat, or any type of pet, they use that pet to help them keep going, have a reason to go on and some one there to help them. If you come home from a stuffe day at work, and you get bombarded by a puppy, it cheers you up. That moment makes you feel good, and keeps you happy for the rest of the hour. With the media and things, we are kinda used to seeing people get shot and stabbed, just like in an action movie, so you cannot really sympathize. But the moment a pet dies, and knowing that the owner spent countless hours cuddling with it, or playing, or snuggling with their pet really pulls the heart strings.

I can't even understand this

Why don't people cry when animals murder other animals?
It's not really murder.

Murder would generally be the act of willfully killing someone solely for the intention of causing their death.

Animals kill other animals either through accident (some larger animals, like dogs, can kill smaller animals, like cats, through play), or because of instinctual reasons, like hunting for food, or because their breed has been bred for hunting.

You shouldn't really be upset or punish a pet, like a cat or dog, if it kills a wild animal like a bird or rabbit, since it had no real control over why it was doing that.

But it is fair to be upset if they kill your pet, because obviously, it's your pet that you care for.
And in cases where wild animals kill domestic pets, like foxes killing cats or chickens, or wolves attacking sheep, then people will get upset and usually hope to kill or remove the animal.
Even in cases where a domestic pet, like a dog, kills a neighbours cat (or multiple cats) it may be put down as it's a dangerous animal.

I don't like most people.
Dogs can be pretty cute.

There's my reasoning.

I can seem some reasoning to it. You'd probably react as if a family member dies when a pet dies;
But when a random animal you don't know of dies from a human who is most likely protecting them self from it and you freak out about it, that's just plain loving stupid.

it really depends. imo for me, it's whether a person deserves it or not, same with the dog/animal

i like people and dogs
but dogs are loyal and nice and friendly all the time while you can easily piss a person off and then they hate you

I don't think that's common.

I wouldn't, and I don't think most people would be upset if someone killed a Shark that was trying to get someone, or a bear was killed as it charged.

But it's different, and more reasonable, to be upset if an animal dies in other ways.
Say a dog is hit by a car, or some birds are choked by rubbish, or a local animal dies of old age, or a Rhino is hunted down for it's horn.
They're deaths where the animal wasn't really deserving of death.

An undeserved death is pretty much guaranteed to upset most people.

some of you seem to be under the impression that all dogs are nice

WELL I NEVER SEE THE BAD ONES

I generally don't care at all about dying people or animals in other places. There are a lot of them and it would be impossible to be sad about all of them, and I think absurd to be sad about only some of them but not others.

Anger is directly proportional to amount of innocence multiplied by the degree of cruelty in the crime. A 4 year old being raped and murdered would cause at least 254.8x the amount of anger as a dog being shot. It has nothing to do with people versus dogs.
