Author Topic: What if lego baught this game?  (Read 1289 times)

I wonder how bad it would've turned out. Would it even still be running? Discuss and hypothesize.

It would have been as stuff as lego universe. End of story.

It didn't happen, and probably wouldn't happen.  Lego wanted it to be much more closed down, if I recall correctly.

I thought they offered Badspot a job, but then he declined and took all the lego bits out so they couldn't take it from him for copyright or whatever.
If they did buy it, I imagine it would be more kid friendly and have more people playing.

LEGO Universe was a decent game mechanically, but it was plagued by terrible marketing.

I thought it was that Badspot wanted to accept their offer, but he never heard back from them again, so after waiting long enough he made it into Blockland.

it would be diffedrent than lego universe because it already would have been when they bought it

There would be more development guys on this game though

slice by knifacide.

oh and lego would pull a bunch of law suits against slick/ddc/cm

So how come Lego hasn't sued or done something since Blockland literally is Legos? Is there some kinda of loophole?

what would they sue this game for
for having building blocks?
why then hasn't lego sued the thousands of other lego knockoffs, like Blocko, Kinex, and many others

It's been explained pretty clearly that he took out anything pertaining to what Lego did copyright (the minifigure design, the interlocking mechanism)
you can't copyright 3x3x5 rectangular solids

Everything about legos is gone in the game

You could ask why they aren't suing MEGABlox too and there ya go.
Well technically not since the copyright expired for legos
