So I turned on water with trains lying around, and although this is a kickass glitch, just wanted to alert you of it.  If they are running around and have velocity, then if in water, they come off the track and keep their velocity in the water.  This got me thinking that not only could this be used for trains, you could make a track for boats to follow, you could make a bus line that ran automatically, you could make a cablecar or skilift.

For the ontrandetected event, where on the train is the point that, when passed over a brick with the ontraindetected event, triggers said brick.  If it is in the dead center of the bottom of the train, then can you make a 1x2f filler guide, because I've had trouble using the 1x1f for certain turn situations.
Sure.

I saw that you had the on trainspawn event on your server.  Have you updated the file?

I am also modeling a train for this, though I have nearly no clue how to export.

The theme park server has a few private things on it for now. The event you saw doesn't actually work yet. (Try it)

There's a couple of others we've added too - CenterTrain and TurnTrainLoop. These are also private for now, as there's some functionality I need to add to the mod first (gears)

Also, Uxie's hopefully modelling us a coaster car.

Ok, cool, but wasn't a coaster car vehicle made some time ago?

[edit]

Nevermind, a new coaster would very much be appreciated.

And I had an idea.  For the trains, how possible would it be to have an event to make the trains' doors open?  I realize more work would have to be done on the train model for that to work by adding door animations and the function to make that happen, but it would give a nice level of detail to the whole thing.

I have no idea how to begin to do this. Sorry.

It's all good, it was just an idea.

bump

Can't really think of anything else, except maybe to try and figure out, through using creative ways, to make the train tilt when going on the up and down hill guides.  This isn't necessary at all, and most people won't care about the awkward look of the train going up/down, but if there is ever a way to reach more realism in anything, you should strive for it.  I know the limitations of playertypes and how the train is one, but I just wish there was a way to maintain a different pitch than horizontal.

What about an event to lock people in trains, so they can't jump out and block the train, fall off a bridge, get stranded on tracks, etc.?  The lock can be overridden by admin, SA, and host.  Dying also unlocks the player.  Locking could also keep people in the same seat they began in.

I don't have access to the functions required to do this.

This is pretty damn cool! Wish I'd seen more of it on servers though.

Same.

It's a shame nobody ever notices some of the stuff that comes out in Modification Discussion - on the bright side, we'll probably have tilting trains before they do notice.

Tilting you say?

You ever get ontrainspawn to work correctly?
