About the Cars part, what actually time does it take place in? Because they talk about driving along Route 66 which was established in 1926, and I don't think Humans would be able to go away by that time. Maybe the first cars started out as older vehicles than what time they were in? (I.E. being 1920 cars in 2xxx, whatever year the Cars took over the world after the humans left).
