Author Topic: YouTube forgets up my internet and I have to restart  (Read 841 times)

Sorry for my second topic in like, an hour, but:

Recently, I've been having this problem with my old laptop that I'm currently using because my new one is in repair and won't be back 'till Monday. Sometimes, no, like, all the time, if I watch a YouTube video, the buffering will randomly stop if I click somewhere in the video that hasn't buffered, or even just watching the video, it will sometimes stop buffering, and my entire browser will stop loading pages. Everything that's using an internet connection will no longer send out-going requests but the incoming requests that are already running (such as being in a skype call, being logged into RuneScape, talking to people on Steam's instant messaging system, etc.) will still work UNTIL I close them and try to re-open them.

Say I'm logged into RuneScape and this happens:

I'm watching a video and it crashes my internet, RuneScape will still be working just fine until I log out. When I try to log back in, I won't be able to connect to the server.

On Steam:

If I crash I can still message people but if I close steam and try to re-open, I'll be in "Not connected to the internet" mode. lol

Skype:

If I crash on Skype and I'm in a call, the call won't crash — it'll work just fine until I hang up the call and try to call again. :L

I have tried:

1. Restarting my adapter

2. Reconnecting to my network

3. Rebooting my router

All of these above have failed BUT:

4. Restarting my computer — it works every time.

So I guess my question here is: What process does my computer restart that fixes this issue? I want to restart it without restarting my goddamn computer every time this happens.

I have a feeling that my network card on this 5-year-old laptop is failing.

Please help :(

Note: I just tried to update my adapter's drivers. It said I'm already up-to-date. So I'm forgeted there. :'c
