Buy a computer that is less stuff.
Okay, sure let me pull that 600 dollars out of my butt crack.

OT: I'd at least try MSE to say I've used it, and if it is stuff or not.

turned it on, updated, scanned, restarted and the service keeps shutting down. does it always do this? i dont understand

it slows up my boot up time so badly for some reason.
running an FX-6100 @ 4.1GHz and a stuffty 160GB hard drive at 40MB/s read, boot time for Windows 7 is ~36 seconds before, and ~37 seconds after avast! installation. Are you sure you're doing it right?

I don't know sorry I've never ever used an antivirus before, its probably not normal try reinstalling it or give up with it and uninstall it.

idk how to explain it. windows boots up less than 30 seconds, but everything else takes so long to load. i have to wait some time before it loads up all the programs and crap, and it takes longer than its normally supposed to
when i uninstall antivirus it instantly loads crap up.
its weird. i dont know why its happening.

Settings > Troubleshooting > Load avast! services only after loading other system services, Disable rootkit scan on startup
fixes all slowness when booting

I think it's enabled by default if you don't have another anti-virus installed.

I think it's enabled by default if you don't have another anti-virus installed.

Avira.
However, it does give a daily advertisement for itself if you use the free version.
