Author Topic: A better weapon system & suggestions  (Read 2835 times)

The aimbot really isn't relevant to the post. You can make points saying that the current system makes these harder or w/e, but it's seriously unrelated. It really seems more like you're trying to find an excuse to bring it up.

It's completely relevant because this is a topic about a reform to blockland combat, and the effectiveness of aimbot, a major exploit found in many games, teeters on our combat system. i used aimbot as an example of why i hate the raycasting system. the second you get locked onto you're done for. there's no more skill coming into play after that. this is why aimbots work. i like projectiles because you have time to jump around and dodge the bullets, which i think is pretty cool.

When you say things like "Therefore it guarantees that players who you were aiming for on the screen would be hit.", it just doesn't sound as fun. as long as you are looking at someone, they take damage, there's nothing the other person can do besides hide.
It sure is a valid point. You know what else is a valid point? You're being quite the smart ass, and, even though the point isn't even related to the topic idiots like you can go in for days arguing about it just to get your hits in. I know you, blok, ever since you've heard that I made an aimbot it seems like its been on the top of your list to make me look bad whenever you get the chance. It seems like heed does the exact same stuff and bringing up the aimbot is the perfect way to make me look like an ass. Usually when someone in this category does this I get angry and tell them to stop. "forget off" seems to do the job well - especially when people don't stop loving bringing it up. Now if it were someone not like you or heed I'd be easier but that isn't apparent huh
wtf, you're pulling some stuff claiming i want to go out of my way to mention you look like an ass? you didn't come up with the concept of an aimbot. it's being brought up because it's something relevant to the topic. i brought up aimbot because it's a legitimate reason of why i don't like raycasting weapons. i don't care about making an ass out of you or whatever, i barely even know who you are.

-Something actually on topic-
Didn't the old school rifle while scoped have this? I know that whatever it aimed at would be hit.

It doesn't need to change.
Mainly for the reasons already discussed in the topic.
Plus, I hate hitscan weapons unless it's a sniper or something.

And why does the OP start to flip out when aimbot is mentioned?

Yeah, that's hitscan.

Wow ok, sorry heed. Its always seemed that you just hated my guts and it looked like you we're trying to make me look bad again. I now realize that is indeed a valid point and I feel regretful for accusing you.

The reason i got mad is because the hack is mentioned so much now that its very irritating to hear it anymore. You didn't know that so it's ok... forgive me please?

Anyways it looks like no one really likes the idea so in just gonna forget the topic or something. Funny stuff because everyone likes tf2 and it uses the exact same stuff huh :p

team fortress and blockland aren't the same game

blockland is almost unique in how far it is toward the projectile scale then it is the hitscan scale and that's why the combat system is so fun

assuming an element of one game will help with no modification in another is just another fallacy. you gotta think about how that would change the game and how well that would mesh with the assets that you (or i guess in this case others) have created for it

Oh lol that last part was a joke haha, but thanks for explaining it I guess

EDIT: Yeah I think I'll just lock the topic, maybe we could still do prediction :p
