Author Topic: why are most big projects usually passworded?  (Read 1596 times)

um, doesn't anyone use single player anymore?

holy crap  i've never thought of that before
like seriously
i didn't

I stay away from single player if I can because it always messes with my scripts when my blid changes to 999999.

Because a busy server developer doesn't want a constant stream of 50kers whining about how the server doesn't have zombies, or the rocket launcher.

Sylvanor will let you in. Just message him and ask him.
Try out some fruits as a password you usually land correct

'asdf' is very often a password

i don't password mine because my stuff usually involves having multiple people

and i don't like having a specific group of dudes, cause then they'd either get wise to the bullstuff i pull or be too small to accomplish what i'm trying to do anyway

i password mine, usually, because i don't want other people coming in and building nearby/messing stuff up
i do occasionally host something else and then just build while everyone is doing their own thing
for some reason i prefer having a passworded multiplayer server than a singleplayer one, even though they're the exact same
i don't know why

Some people make their servers passworded so that people will see the title, and it'll generate more hype for it's final release.

the issue with that is that nobody gives a crap about passworded servers
whats the point if you can't get in

or they just have that box checked that doesn't show passworded servers
