Author Topic: CAN WE STOP WITH THIS DEDICATED SERVER stuff ALREADY  (Read 3514 times)

i do that a lot in facebook and texts
but i still know how to properly here, man

there have been multiple times i joined an empty dedicated server just to see the builds and there are red spam bricks, vehicle spawns, snakees, all sorts of spam and stuff. good dedicated servers usually have admins on. popular dedicated servers should set up admin shifts

cant believe you guys have already found something new to complain about

this thread proves that you guys will always complain about something

I think the point of the entire thread just flew over your head.

He's trying to say that the spamming of so many dedicated servers with absolutely no players is obnoxious. Besides, having to press the sort button every time you open the server list is really loving annoying and it's a ten-second process that nobody should have to go through.

Clicking sort player won't take you 10 seconds.

What's more concerning is the non-dedicated servers with 0 players.

... seriously?

come on now

Clicking sort player won't take you 10 seconds.

To actually refresh all the servers and load them, yes. Not to actually click the button. :C

... seriously?

come on now

Oh yeah, I forgot this existed. lol

Doesn't mean everyone else is gonna use it and not be affected by all the empty servers attracting their attention away from servers that actually deserve it.

If you are going to make a dedicated server, don't leave it up if it's empty for over 24 goddamn hours. It's cluttering up the server list
Whoa dude, I'm glad you made a drama topic about this. The whole issue of empty servers cluttering up the server list has been a plague on our community for months, and you've managed to speak for the community and help stop this tragedy. Oh wait, no you didn't. Because this was never a problem in the first place.
just sort by players.
just sort by players, genius

Well sorry, it's kinda nearly impossible to have a dedi server have 99 players 24/7.

no edit
Plus I don't want to set it up all over again if it happens to be empty for an hour or two.

... seriously?

come on now

oh look there's me

whether it's annoying or not to the person flipping through the server list, i still agree it's an awful use of energy for whoever is hosting the server for days on end without a single visitor.

obviously building something, slapping some guns and a minigame on it and hosting a dedi isn't the way to do it, you've got to invite some friends over so you can get it up to 3 players. If the gamemode doesn't blow ass, then you'll certainly see a steady flow of players come in.

It's why I love the RTB friends system. When my friends see me hosting they join in and see whats up. That's how my incredibly boring Chernobyl [WIP] would average 10 players.
