Normally, I'd say that that whole SM thing is OP, remember the "no invincibility" thing?  But I would think it accurate that any ICBMs coming from the Hudson area flying over Erinamese airspace would be shot down given the distance over hostile airspace they would need to travel.  However, I'd say that the vast majority of missiles coming in from the Caribbean would be able to hit their mark given the likelihood of Yaslovakian support (shooting down SMs).  Figure it out among yourselves, but the "no invincibility" bit still applies, some of those missiles got through and hit their mark.

They were shot down for that reason.  For instance if Belsnia fired a rocket from 30 miles over his border with the destination of hitting a target 50 miles over the Erinamese border, SMs would be able to intercept it with 70% accuracy, but it would be over Erinamese land, and debris would still fall on Erinamese land.

Aside from that, there are ETOIs, whose main purpose is to strike flying aircraft and missiles.  Secondary function being frying electronics and stuff.

Hey, I didn't say that a clusterforget of missiles wouldn't permiate at all.  Remember the whole Belsian nerve agent rocket attack?  My scenario includes one rocket and I said 70% intercept chance.  That's not invincibility.  To be realistic, since SM auto-intercept programs are AI-controlled, the generalized rate should be around 87.5% for close range targets, and the rate would grow more the further the rockets have to travel.  Think of it as a logarithmic figure of increase.  Even still, the debris would fall on Erinamese land.

As far as orbital bombardment, the units don't have power all the time, and they have to be charged before another use.  They're not 100% reliable all the time.
