Author Topic: Random Youtube Video Generator  (Read 9709 times)

You guys remember the random imgur generator?
Well, here's something much more fun: The random youtube video generator.
http://randomyoutube.net/
Go here, and if you find any weird videos (which is more common on youtube), post them here.
Please note that I am not responsible for any weird, unusual, scary, etc. videos you may find, as this is the internet, and I cannot control what people post on youtube.
(Instructions: Go to the site and click the play button, which will open a new tab with the random video. Then to generate another, go back to the site and click "Click here for another".)
Go.

"74,708 random video IDs"

Pretty lame selection when there's more than 3 billion videos on YouTube.

Hey, you know how random imgur generators fail to find an image really often? Imgur URLs are 7 random numbers and letters. Those generators just make a random URL and hope it exists.
YouTube URLs are 10 random numbers and letters (and _). Have fun using the same method for finding random videos - then notice how unlikely it is to actually find one.

It's 11 characters, and no stuff. I never said generating a random string was a viable alternative.

you could always check on the server if a video exists behind the link before returning the results

But with 62 quintillion possible video IDs, you'd be waiting a long time for a working link.
