So haha, yeah fun story time. Just wanted to share this with you guys and see if you have any friends / familys similar. Maybe it's the opposite? Maybe your family is obsessed with Microsoft.
Okay, anyways. I'll start telling you about everyone's opinions on Apple and stuff in my family. My dad, he's the leader of the Apple fandom in my family. He's obsessed with it, he thinks everything else sucks unless it isn't Apple. He continuosly bashes at my laptop cause it is a Lenovo Thinkpad and it's not an Apple. He thinks everything else is prone to viruses, and Apple's cannot get viruses. (Which for dummies, is totally not true. Apples can get viruses just like normal PC's can. It depends on how stupid the operator is and if they actually know what they are downloading. If they are oblivious then you are prone to viruses).
My mother is just like my dad. She call her windows 7 computer that is pretty good (6 GB of RAM, 2.30 GHz, Quad Processors) slow. She gets viruses constantly cause she downloads anything that says "100% SAFE"
My sister (she just got a new Macbook pro from my parents for free no charge at all). She thinks that everything else sucks, she is always trying to make me jealous about her laptop and everything. She's die hard Apple. Sometimes she scares me. She thinks they can't get viruses and such. And anything that has "Windows" or "Microsoft" she literally will say "haha so stupid" or worse in public.
My other sister is the same as above, except she just got a new iPod touch from my parents absolutely free.
Then my OLDEST sister, is just like "Apples better" that's it. She won't really fight over it.
My 2 brothers are like "They are both computers, but I prefer Microsoft for gaming and Apple for phones / laptops. Microsoft / Android all the way for tablets"
My brother in law could careless he uses whatever works.
Me on the other hand, I don't hate Apple. They have good products. However, I think that they are overpriced and overrated. But I gotta say, I really do prefer none Apple products. My family judges computers by the Operating System (which is not the way to judge a computer at all). And of course the looks. They aren't looking at customization or if it breaks, how much it will cost to replace it. My parents already have enough money saved up to buy my sisters new Apple things if theirs break. On a Macbook pro, you really can't change anything in the guts. You can't really change the graphics card or RAM, unless you want to go through a lot of trouble. However, on a new Dell /Toshiba laptop, you can pretty much upgrade most of it. Usually laptops aren't meant to be upgraded but yeah you know what I mean. You can.
So any of your families like this?
