I don't see why people try to hide reality and try to censor us from "adult content" in order to "protect" us. Seriously, we already know about nudity and research and stuff like that and we already see it ourselves everyday, such as when we use a bathroom. Most of us know about love and love and whatnot and they are an important part of life and a process vital to our existence known as reproduction. In school a lot of us have already learned about this stuff. Parents don't accomplish anything by trying to hide it and deny that it all exists. It's not something that will kill you if you are exposed to it - seriously, humans would never exist if that is the case. People are designed to like this stuff and to fall in love and reproduce simply because that is vital to our existence and it is a life process you can indulge in or not - your choice. Why censor people from things they may like? We all know about it and those who don't will eventually learn - why should it be censored? You're not giving people the chance to grow up and mature by doing that. Making a filter is not even trying - just like badspot said, "How many ways can you write the word 'creep'?"

Why are governments in such a rush to ban everything?

BECAUSE love IS EVIL AND WE MUST PROTECT THE CHILDREN.

Mommy where do babies come from?

Oh, honey, I can't tell you that. I will be hung

BECAUSE love IS EVIL AND WE MUST PROTECT THE CHILDREN.
Damn governments just wont stop protecting the children >:/

Damn governments just wont stop protecting the children >:/

IF ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 KNOWS ABOUT love THEY WILL LITERALLY DIE

This is what programs like Tor were created for.
To bypass oppressive government censorship.
Of course it's just research right now, but if they can block that, they can block anything.

I don't see a problem with this.

If you wish to have that sort of imagery then you need to have the filter changed.
I can't quite tell if that would be something you could do personally, or if you need to contact your ISP to do it though.

The only real problems I can see happening is certain websites may be blocked which some could recognise as researchographic, despite not being so.
There are websites dedicated to Art that depict the naked form, in such things as paintings and statuary.

It does leave the question of what point the Government deems something as researchographic or not though.
For example, "LotsOfTits" dot com is probably researchographic (or a keen avian fan site).
Nuts Magazines website however features the same sort of images that are in Nuts Magazine, which are naked or scantily clad women, but often doesn't show nipples, or at the most part, definitely doesn't show genitals.

Seeing as how those sorts of Magazines are allowed in magazine racks in Supermarkets and Newsagents, with 90% naked girls on the cover, where Children could easily spot the image, it wouldn't be fair if the websites for companies like those require people to have to manually change whether they can access them.
Not everyone is tech savvy and might not understand how to go about gaining access to those websites, and that would result in a loss of money to those companies.
Which ultimately means a loss of Tax for the government.

But other than that though, there's nothing wrong with them putting more measures (even if they're very basic) to stopping people watching research.
And there is nothing wrong with them putting in measures to try and crack down on Child research and it's viewers, as well as stopping Rape Material being readily accessed online.
Who the forget is going to ask their parents to ask the government to unblock the internet.
For that matter, what if you were living with other people who weren't your parents.

You don't ask the government.

It's not like you have to send a letter to the Prime Minister explaining how much you want to touch yourself and you'd like research unblocked for you.

If you're that embarassed about asking your parents for the ISP to unblock your internet then maybe you're not old enough to be viewing research.
Go get off over something else if it is that much of a problem for you.
researcho Mags still exist.

And what scenario are you thinking about where you don't live with your parents and wan't to unfilter the internet?
Contact your ISP, or whatever other method this introduces for selecting the filters.

The Government isn't taking your right away here (not that viewing research is a human right). You can still keep it unfiltered.

The government should stay out of these affairs entirly. It's not their job to say what is and is not okay to watch.
Besides, afaik you can still watch a movie where people get killed. Murder is worse than love.

edit:
(not that viewing research is a human right)
Neither is abortion, neither is gay marriage, neither is smoking the dank ganja, it all depends on who you ask.

For reference, I live in America and am over 18, none of this applies to me in any way.
