Author Topic: RuneScape 3 was released (Read 3079 times)

Not putting it in the megathread because megathreads have multiple topics in a game and I want this to be specifically about RS3.

So, RuneScape 3 has been released today but it is missing the HTML5 client that was promised for release today; reason being that its optimization was not good enough yet. The reason is understandable but the HTML5 client is the least of my problems. I'm having trouble even getting into the game. I was on it for a few but tried logging in via the client which then froze the living stuff out of the game and it wasn't pleasant.

The game is buggy as forget right now and isn't even accessible to me in the slightest. I hope they fix it soon because I at least want to try the new "The Battle Of Lumbridge" quest thing or whatever.

Anyone else lagging like balls trying to get in?

Whenever Jagex has a major graphical update, they call it the next RuneScape.

RuneScape went to RuneScape 2 in 2004 when the new graphics came out.

RuneScape 2 HD came out in 2008 which should have been RS3 in my opinion.

EoC was released in 2012 which also should have been RS3 but it wasn't.

RS3 was released today with the new user interface but is lacking the HTML5 client which is supposed to make it the actual RuneScape 3.

The new storyline was released which marks the 6th age was released so I guess that's why they're calling it RS3.

The HTML5 wasn't released with it. So it's still got its stuffty laggy Java engine as the main option. So loving annoying.

I used to play RuneScape for quite a while, but I quit because it completely fell downhill extremely quickly.

Runescape 2 was the version from 2004 to 2008, then upgraded a bit to Runescape High Detail which I guess is Runescape 2.5.
