Author Topic: I was put in an "advanced computer" class  (Read 2612 times)

In my 8th grade computer class we had to write stories on microsoft and make presentations on what we were going to be when we grew up on powerpoint.
It was more like a literature class and i hated it.

in my 7th grade computer elective I learned advanced computer skills such as opening a folder.

Atleast you'll get good grades

this, lol

In "Advanced Computer Science II" I was doing excel spreadsheets. It's ridiculously easy. I've done harder things setting up wrench events in blockland.

I had a Computers class in 6th grade as a part of an elective wheel. I got to learn how to make a powerpoint for the 5th time.

The teacher still had to teach some kids how to make capital letters without capslock though. Kinda sad.

At the end of my 8th grade computer class we made little "videos" out of PowerPoint (Mine was probably the best, but again this is using PowerPoint). The class, like all other computer classes, was easy.

You know you'll do fine when the teacher starts the class off with a powerpoint presentation of how to act correctly in the classroom, even by 8th grade.
Most likely, if you can post on the Blockland forums without looking like an idiot, you'll be the only one who isn't typing at a keyboard like an autistic child, or a chicken pecking at some food.
implying that looking like an idiot on a lego forum means that you cant operate a computer

I had a computer class for 8th grade, I played games 75% of the time because I finished my powerpoints way faster than everyone else.

Yes, my teacher knew and no, she didn't mind.

EDIT: I wasn't the only one. Nearly everyone in the class finished within the first 15 minutes, and played while they waited for the kids that probably hadn't touched a computer before.

When I finished my stories in Writing Class, if I went on my email she'd go "GET OFF OF THERE! YOU NEED TO BE WORKING!" when i was done.

I don't know why, but when I was in 8th grade my computer class actually taught useful things. I went to a normal public school too. They taught us how to use dreamweaver and design websites, and a little bit of HTML.  A lot of the other kids in my class were pretty cool too, and when we had free time we'd make fun .bat files or play that japanese robot game called verbatim or something.

I had teachers like that, my Science teacher was the best teacher ever but he had the no phone policy (where if you had a phone he told you to put it away and that was the end of it).

That sounds awesome.
