Author Topic: Does anyone actually use the Home Keys?  (Read 3073 times)

You know in tech class all the teachers will go, "USE THE HOME KEYES ITS THE ONLY PROPAR WAY TO TYPE!". That only slows me down further, I just keep my hands wherever they are currently and go to type.

BL how do you type? Do you actually use the home keys?

my hand position is mostly determined by how I start the sentence. forget the home keys that's way faster.

I type a lot faster than my friends and family after I took a typing class. I either place my fingers on the home keys or WASD and mouse.

If i want to go back and correct something, i either hold ctrl and press an arrow key to speedily go through words i've typed, or hold ctrl and hold backspace, even if i end up re-typing words, i just do what i do :cookieMonster:

Who gives a forget about how to properly type. I'll type how I want.

i use the home keys but i've never actually used the Home key

you know, between page up and insert?

i actually don't know what it does. same with scroll lock, and the pause/break key. which both sound pretty forthright, but don't do what i expected them to

but beyond that i only use the home keys because that's just where my fingers usually are on the keyboard in the first place and if i spot an error i usually just backspace all the way back to that point, then re-type from there (because i type fast enough to bridge any cognitive gap that would have created in the first place)

my hand position is mostly determined by how I start the sentence. screw the home keys that's way faster.

3 finger type system ftw

In elementary school they made us take this typing program every year, I eventually got so good at it I could maintain a 40WPM, but now I can only do 30 because I'm out of elementary school now and there aren't any typing programs in my new school.

My hands are too small to stay on the home keys and be able to type so my hands kind of just stay around that area, but when I type my hands move all around the keyboard.

I use the Home keys for casual typing.

The home keys are a lie and our teachers are indoctrinating us to use a stuffty form of typing
