Author Topic: Can other people save my builds?  (Read 1376 times)

Hey.This is just a question ive been wondering about. Recently, there have been a couple people who have said that they've saved my builds at one point or another. I have very few admins, so i never really put effort into hiding my name into my builds or anything. Im a little worried that, if somehow they did save my best builds, they could claim it as their own and I'd be unable to prove they were my builds. Probably just paranoia on my part, but still. Is it possible for a non-admin to save my build?

Im posting this here because the help section is where the compitent people who know stuff go, and its least likely to blow up into a debate about build stealing here.

People can save your builds.

People can save your builds.
How?
can i prevent them from doing so?

Not much room for discussion

You can't prevent people from saving bricks. It's one of the core features of the game.

Yeah but i dont want someone to just take something that ive worked on for weeks and call it their own

Than don't host a public server with your build. There is no way to prevent them from saving your build if it's on a public server. You can only prevent them from saving events.

Thats rediculous...

You can't do that either.

Yes you can. The client sends a command to the server requesting the events.

Well, then it sounds like in order to do that, the host or the console needs to deny the command.

You'll have to bypass the function blacklist in order to block that command with torquescript

The only way to even partly stop people from saving your builds is by using many various brick packs, and assuming the attempted build stealer lacks the brick pack, the build will not load correctly on their side. On a large scale however, this is most likely impractical and overkill. Also, people can see the brick packs you use unless you make your own non-RTB brick pack.

yeah, some of my builds are impossible to save, since i use custom brick packs.
