Author Topic: Badspot encourages messaging the support team for help, then doesn't care.  (Read 7691 times)

That's why I saved my key and my alt key to three TXT files located on my flash drive, my laptop, and the shoddy desktop that we have.
What the faq I memorized my key and Brickitect(bro)'s key. Wasn't that hard.

Now wait just one minute. For 2 years now, I've been trying to recover two keys from my mother's email which hold my key and my sister's key. We never have received one email, never. Luckily, I have my key memorized but my sister doesn't even know the first 5 digits of her's. It doesn't work well for me and it never has.
Obviously you didn't buy them with that email if it doesn't recover it. Does key recovery say it sent the emails?

Yeah it did. 2 keys.

I remember when I couldn't get my key to work I PM'd Badspot what I thought the key was.

He ended up giving me my actual key. Maybe you should be more patient next time.

Let me rewrite your message so Badspot doesn't thinks you need babysitting:

Eric, I understand that you want to help people who have issues with their key, ect. but you really need to operate the Support Team more often.

There are a lot of new users on Blockland who has issues that can't be resolved in the Help section of the forums.

You need to start helping those people, otherwise they might purchase a key and ends up abandoning it because they either can't recover it for some reason or was lost some time after. The keys will later become spam keys.

Thank you.

This will more than likely not get him to respond to you so negatively. Rage mail does absolutely bullstuff. Be more legible next time.

although op is dumb, i sort of agree with him. ive emailed, made topics, and messaged badspot multiple times and have not once gotten a reply. the first time was because i had lost my key when my only computer died. obviously i could have used the email that i had bought the key on, but that was years ago and the email had been deleted and was no longer in use. i emailed support if i could get my key emailed to my new email and never got a reply back even after i messaged him about it.

then after i found my key about 2 months later i tried to get on but for some reason i couldnt join any games, it just diconnected me and gave me an error message. i made a topic, multiple people responded but nothing worked, i emailed support and messaged badspot but never got a reply.

i mean i get that people are busy, but i mean at least checking the support email and sending a reply back even if its "there is no fix to your problem" would be nice.

I guess memorizing the key wouldn't be too hard, but yeah, my key is on a postit stapled too my desk

When I lost one of my keys and realized the e-mail I registered the key with was gone I just re-created the e-mail account and resent the key.

On Topic: Badspot has no way of confirming it's your key. You could send him the transaction ID that was used to purchase as confirmation but if you didn't keep that information it's your fault.

That's actually a handicapped feature.

Dude, use the key recovery system, its there for a reason. (https://blockland.us/keyRecovery.php)

Why is it so hard for people to click on the link that says Lost Key Recovery, instead of whining to badspot about a lost key?

Did you even read any of the posts under the OP?

I think it's a reasonable expectation that your customers can manage to hold onto the email account they used to purchase your game.  If you can manage that strenuous task then key recovery works just fine.
It's a completely reasonable expectation, and I'm sure the system works for 99% of users. However, in my case, I lost the email associated with my first Blockland key because it was an email address managed by GoDaddy.com connected to a domain my parents used to pay for. However, after they stopped paying for and hosting a website on that domain, I couldn't access that email to get my key sent to me. The fact I lost the email address wasn't any fault of my own.
