so my PS3 has had a YLOD for a couple months and i didnt really care since i never really played it, but now i have the urge to play some PS3 games and my PS3 is forgeted. My dad has used the oven method where it melts the solder and it would work for about a week and then YLOD again, he has done this like 3 times already..

Is my PS3 forgeted or is it still repairable

forgeted. I mean you can just keep doing the oven thing until it stops working all together. Either way you need a new PS3 if you want one that bad.

Please stop being one of those people suggesting a PS4 every time someone wants a PS3. Currently a PS3 has a better library than the PS4 and will continue to hold that title for a very good amount of time since the PS4 is a fresh console.

If I wanted to buy a NES, would you jump at me and say "dude xbox one is around the corner dont bother"?

They don't make consoles like they used to. My Nintendo 64 is 16 years old and still works like the day I got it.

it's more so the fact the tech inside is getting smaller, therefore being more able to be damaged. stuff in about 10-15 years transistors won't be able to get any smaller. right now they're about 50-55 nanometers?
