Author Topic: How can I play a soundboard on PC games?  (Read 6897 times)

All of a sudden I have the urge to play games and use a character soundboard while playing. The only thing I can think of is playing it from another device and using my mic to pick it up, but I know there's a better and clearer way

There are some programs people use with Source Engine games for micspam, however, i do not know one that definitely works

Pretty sure the only way is to have a separate device doing the sounds in a microphone.

You can enable stereo mix and see if the game accepts that as a mic input.

HLDJ is my personal favorite to play audio through Source games.
Other methods would require another device or median

Dont have Stereo Mix

So I have to buy hardware to do this?

Virtual Audio Cable, for sure. It's the easiest way to micspam or soundboard now a days ever, from my experience at least.

Could you post a link to it? I'm using steam browser and cant exactly do it right now

Virtual Audio Cable doesn't work for me because it's an unsigned driver and Windows won't let me install it.

Ah, yeah I remember how this was a problem for me too...

Aww man I can't remember how I solved this. There was a few tutorials for it IIRC.
