Author Topic: Decent gaming desktop build for around $500?  (Read 735 times)

What is your recommended price-range on building a new computer dedicated to gaming?

I have about $400 dollars saved up, but I'm trying to search for a new job. I've been saving up for a car all summer but recently my job as been treating me like stuff so I'm going to quit and find a better one. That means I won't really be able to buy a car until I can secure another job and quit my previous one. So I'm kinda probably gonna say forget it and start building my desktop and then buy a car afterwards.

Suggestions on parts and pricing please?

Anyway, no thanks. Megathreads draw attention away from posts that require lots of answers.

I want people to actually read what I say and respond to it. lol

google says that's around 2600-3900 usd.

i suppose i could try to make something that runs medium settings for most games

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lauk seirously though, this is pretty nice for the price.
7770 is alright for games, but you can always upgrade

okay, here's something. $9 over, doesn't include an optical drive (which is like $20) or an OS.

Worth noting that if you can't afford it/are too lazy, you could always do it they way we did it in the 'hood...
