Author Topic: Many Apple services are down  (Read 1235 times)

Many of Apple's services have been down these past few days due to someone finding out a way into their system.  Sadly this means developers cannot test on their iOS devices and ultimately submit to the app store.

They have however created a handy status page where you can view what parts of their system are currently up.  They claim to have put the iOS Dev Center up (provisioning portals, certificates, etc) although they accidentally set the "accept license agreement" page to a maintenance page :/

This really sucks as I cannot test my applications on physical devices, or even submit them to the App store.
Discuss Apple's mishap.

PS, please do not turn this into a Android VS iOS thread.  Both are wonderful in their own ways and both have their ups and downs.  Thank

I dun have a phone so I dun need to worry about this

Thanks 4 wasting time.

Apple's development fees are way too high.

uh?

Apple's development fees are way too high.
And I'm not too sure about that.  It is true that $99 a year is a pretty beefy amount to pay.  Although, you get access to example code, dev forums, developer library, tutorial videos, and ability to submit to the app store.  All while making money from the applications you create.  It may seem like a ton at first, but you pay it off pretty quickly.

But Android only costs $20-$25 for a lifetime.

Anyway, they have finally started putting some services up, its just taking a really long time :/

Seeing as iTunes connect never even went down, I'm pretty confused as to why they even have it up there

What if you don't want to use a Mac for Xcode?

Is it really $99? No.

Actually someone discovered an exploit and reported it to Apple.  The exploit allowed him to view almost all of the database.
