good night... sweet prince

Not that many people used them anyway.

Not that many people used them anyway.
Lots of people used the game-based online play, and Nintendo refused to comment on those.

Apparently you also can't send messages to friends anymore.

Quick someone go see if Brawl's online play works.

Do svidanya, Wii Systems

I know I didn't. I only use the Wii Shop Channel to download N64 and SNES games.

I'll miss playing Mario Kart Wii and SSBB with friends. Oh well, I think the only people who still have a Wii (and use it often) are the elderly, obese people looking to loose weight while still being lazy, and overprotective parents who think every game on anything aside from an iPad and Wii is rated M.

Tried it and got connected to their servers, although no one wanted to connect with me.

Brawl still works, thank god.

I'm okay with this.

Wrong
The Wii U couldn't transfer memory from games with online components such as Brawl and Mario Kart Wii
Nor could it transfer miis easily
...or much of anything else actually.
And it can't play gamecube games but those dont do online play anyway.

can't play gamecube games
I now have a reason to keep my Wii. (other then Tales of Symphonia: DOTNW, but that's getting a rerelease on the PS3)
