Author Topic: Interior wont hollow  (Read 2229 times)

I'm trying to make a simple cardboard box in Torque Constructor as a test, I make a box and hit hollow brush, select a wall size, texture it and export as Legacy Dif, when I load it in BL it's fine on the outside, but when you go in it you can see out, but there are 2 walls visible, what else do I do besides hollow brush?

Try using the subtract tool instead. It is more accurate and can be used to make more interesting shapes.

I dunno how you use that, but here are pics of a room I tried to make using a box and the hollow brush.

I personally use valve hammer 3.5, its way less laggy than its newer counterpart available through steam in the SDK package. Does constructor have a carve tool? I know that hammers is really glitchy with carving with anything apart from cubes.
You could use a cave tool if there is one.

Subtract tool works great.

Basically create a brush in the area you want subtracted from another brush. Go to modify>subtract (on the left menu) and it should remove that area.

Then delete the subtraction brush and the hole should appear.

GOD! You don't understand! I Want to make a box into a room in the constructor, that's it! Nothing fancy, just a f*cking box that you can go in... For Christ sake.

Use the Make Hollow command, it's in one of the menu bars.

I know that... It says in main post that when that it is used, it leaves the roof and one wall non existent on the inside, they just exist on the outside.

OMFG! LETS START SHOUTING!!!

WHAT I TOLD YOU IS HOW TO MAKE A HOLLOWED OUT CUBE. DO NOT USE THE HOLLOW TOOL. USE THE SUBTRACT TOOL.

Would there be a difference between exporting it to a dif or a legacy dig?
If so, maybe that's your problem? =/

@RW: But that is for 2 different brushes, a box is only 1 brush.

Subtract in constructor = Carve in hammer.

You delete the subtract brush after you use it.  =/
