Author Topic: my addon list is unorganized  (Read 5473 times)

OP ignored, OP should do this

It does not help at all really. They are just randomly sorted in-game (and randomly LOADED in-game, and randomly checked in-game) but the folder is alphabetical.

He says that they show up in the same order each time. This implies that it is not random. If you can toggle around the options and get a matching order, then we would all know how the game is ordering them. I would say it is worth the 1 minute of work.

i tried that, i tried organizing by size, date created, date modified, name, and even file author. but non of them matched the order they are in on the addons list

The common thread here appears to be linux.  I don't have the means to debug this right now.

There's a Windows 7 and a Windows XP in there as well.

i fixed it. i have been running blockland on a flashdrive and the drive seems to be the problem. i copied my blockland folder from the flashdrive to my computer and ran it from there, all my addons where organized and every thing worked fine. but when i run blockland on the flashdrive everything is not fine. so now i formated the flashdrive and copied my blockland folder back on to the flashdrive. now when i run blockland on the flashdrive it works now, all my addnons are organized and i am so happy!
sorry xSetrox but i don't think this solution will work for you.

What format was your flash drive before you wiped it? NTFS, FAT32, ext3, what?

i dont remember, FAT32 maybe

If the ext4 file system I use on Linux is causing this, that would be sad.. maybe I should've made my partition use FAT or maybe NTFS.

Noo, its probably just Wine. Ext, and ext4 being the latest, is the native file system for linux. Ext4 offers the best performance for linux, some people run into glitches/problems when on NTFS (idk about FAT32). Also, I believe with ext4 defragging is not an issue.

People reported this happening on Windows, though, so I don't think it's Wine. They were using removable drives AFAIK, and I wonder if those were using a different file system.
