My name is Dan Miller and I'm a Private First Class in the United States Army. I'm on a Huey with my squad, on this bumpy ride, to moving closer to hell. In ten days there's supposed to be a cease fire to celebrate Tet, some gook year celebrated by gooks; honestly, I don't buy this whole 'cease fire' bullstuff. Those northern gooks are going to pull some stuff out their asses. Sarg' Baker says we should arriving in Hue in about 10 minutes, yet I haven't seen a damn sign of life besides these rice farms. This sucks. It's loving hot.

January 20, 1968. 4.04 Hours

The squad and the rest of the company move into the city of Hue, going past the Citadel into a US staging a rea. They stop inside the stronghold. There's barbed wire and steel fences all around it. The staging area looks like it used to be a playground, with some old toys still lying there, with bullets holes, helmets of dead NVA, and some are just completely blown up. There's a tall four story building at one end of the staging area. The big boxy building has steel honeycomb guards on the windows. There's a tent with radios, computer equipment. The lights in the area make it seem like day, though it's night. Each squadron, one at a time, is brought up to this tent. Finally it gets to Charlie squad.

Sergeant Major White: Charlie squad, at 13.35, your squadron you will be moved out of the staging area near Nguyen street, north of this current location. There's going to be a POW switch off and it should strengthen the pact for the Tet agreement. Charlie squad, you, and Alfa squad, and Bravo squad will be there as well. The NVA are also there, but they are not your enemy this time around. Do not fire unless fired upon. If your stupidity just forgets this up then the whole Tet cease fire gets thrown out. Watch yourself when out there.

"Hey Henry, why did you want to be a medic, when your look fits more the status quo of a water boy. Hahahaha!"
