Last time I checked, reddit was a cesspit full of child enthusiasts who got butthurt when child research was finally banned, the most disgusting part was that they tried to get it unbanned by saying that  child abuse is part of their freedom of speech.

You realize that this is prettymuch what Aphtonites already does? Makes broad blanket fireball claims and points at specific pieces of the whole, and assumes that what's true of any part of the whole must also be true of the whole, as long as it's not a whole that he likes.

Sub to /r/TrueAtheism instead of /r/atheism. True Atheism has no link posts, only self posts, so it's all discussion instead of fedora nerds posting dumb atheist memes. Plus the community in True Atheism is all around more tame.

Same reason people subscribe to the other religion-based subreddits, and political subreddits for that matter. People want to meet others who have similar outlooks on life I suppose.
