Move the flags close to the middle and it will be better.
It would be way too easy to capture a flag then. The way I have it set up, if you kill 2 or 3 people right outside of the flag room and then you grab the flag and quickly run out, you will definitely have at least 3 guys right on your tail (if they have a good team) and maybe some people returning to their base to stop you.
It is extremely difficult to capture a flag on your own and that is most likely what you were trying to do. Sometimes, I will be 2 rooms away from getting the enemy flag, but I won't advance towards the flag because I see that 2 or 3 of my teammates just recently died and I don't have much backup. What I like to do is stop a couple enemies from crossing the middle area while waiting for some of my teammates. This way there are less enemies to deal with on our way to the flag. You'll be met by several enemies at their flag, but by this time, you also have several teammates showing up. If you manage to grab the flag and finish off the last couple of enemies off, there is no way they can catch you, even if you have only 1 player watching your back.
What it comes down to is: bring backup.
This map requires that at least some of your teammates know what they are doing. Rarely do you hear "I will defend". Almost everyone wants to go and get the flag. Some rounds I like to just stay back and pick people off near the middle of the map and that are advancing on our flag room. This helps players that are just respawning because they don't have to deal with enemies right when they leave the spawn room and it helps teammates trying to cross the middle area and enter enemy territory.
