Author Topic: why isnt america spending time trying to fix detroit  (Read 12151 times)

they should have enough money to pay for that. you know... like how every other city does it.

if they cant afford it, then they cant be a city. welcome to the real world. there isnt magic money from the federal government to pay for everything lol. never was, never will be.
They should have enough money to pay the loads of money to save their city? Pfft, talk about "magic money." Money doesn't grow on trees lol. There are things called taxes, which citizens should pay and do their part in society.

Hypocrite.

Also, is this some "survival of the fittest" thing with you? I know you're a social darwinist, (which pretty much the lamest thing I've ever seen tbh), but I'm just guessing that your opinion on this is formed through selfish reasons like that. Please learn how reality works Bisjac

Thank you for finally understanding the problem Detroit has, Funkadelic.

but I want to move there :I
you make a whole OP about how bad Detroit is and then you say you want to move there.
what is your major malfunction?

Not a major malfunction. I want to move to Greektown, but I'm worried about the rest of detroit.

Thank you for finally understanding the problem Detroit has, Funkadelic.
No problem.

yes as the point has been given to you many times already. if the city cant sustain itself, then let it die. when others pick up the burdan (as they have already tried and failed) it just creates more dept and no success anyways.

forget detroit. there are far more cities that need to watch their budgets, why drag them down to save 1.

this is reality. why else are they letting it fail like this lol. they clearly are going with my plan.

No problem. None of these guys live inside of a city, and hey, I guess we're the ones that understand.
I'm sure we all understand there's a problem, it's just a matter of 'what can realistically be done about it at this point in time?'. I don't think the problem is being ignored by any levels of government involved, but we don't necessarily know what's going on.

they're busy giving all the money to Israel

We need to save detroit because it actually happened, it already tanked.

I still don't see why you're blind to the fact that Detroit is a major city and needs to be saved. And I also don't see why you think a little bit of money from you is such a huge burden to you, so you can say "forget detroit." You're pretty much saying 'forget you, you're on your own now' to 700,000 people.

I'm done with this argument now. If you want to be so selfish to the extent of what you've said, go ahead. You don't know how any of this works and I can't seem to convince you that you don't, so whatever. You can keep thinking that letting a major city implode is necessary.

Why didn't America spend copious amounts of money to keep every ghost town in the west afloat? Because that's ridiculous.

Detroit was centered around automobile manufacturing, which as everyone can probably tell is no longer a prominent fixture in the U.S. Therefore, you're all seeing the collapse of the largest ghost city perhaps in history.

why should we save them? they went bankrupt because they continually elected corrupt whackos that enacted awful policies and threw up way too much government structuring that wasn't sustainable even in detroit's heyday, so expecting us to fix their problem is ridiculous

we don't need to save them, we don't have any moral obligation to save them, and we don't want to save them

expecting the federal government (which has almost 17 trillion dollars in debt (and 125 trillion dollars in unfunded pensions thanks to DEAREST LEADER's unwillingness to cut any programs at all)) to bail out a city that destroyed itself is a completely financially unsound concept and a pointless one at that

don't even start on the state, it's running 11 billion dollar deficits a year and is 77 billion in debt already

Detriot's boned, and you can thank their forgetwad citizens for it.

Good luck trying to even fit in when you move there. I'd give a month before you get shot for "looking funny".
