Author Topic: why isnt america spending time trying to fix detroit  (Read 12098 times)

You don't just "fix detroit"

The only way that would work is blowing up the whole thing

A Military invasion seems more fitting.

So let me get this straight

We'll bail out a car company, but NOT a city?

Did I get that right?
those are two different bailouts.  the return on bailing out a city wouldn't happen for a very long time (at least for detroit in its current state) whereas the automaker bailout had a more "trustable" return (due to their known ability to create and sell a stuffload of cars).  not to mention at the time of the bailout those car companies were helping to keep that city still barely alive, allowing them to go under would likely have more drastic effects on the economy and on detroit.

I actually found a house in Detroit with a caved in roof.

I think at this point it might take more resources to fix it all than its worth, plus its not worth bailing out Detroit if there would be no jobs and just sink back into the stuffhole its in now.

Here's an idea.

Evacuate all the innocent civilians out of Detroit and leave anyone with a criminal record, and a very big one. Then put a gate around the entire city and tell the criminals it's theirs. After a few weeks, most of the criminals would probably be dead and there might be mass fires. So after like 3 weeks, send a bomb squad into the city and destroy the peice of stuff.

the stark contrast between that house and the one to the left with the car is amazing

Awful idea. Send them to somewhere else. I love Detroit idgaf what you people say to deter me.

why do you like detroit exactly

Why did you quote that three times exactly

I've never heard anyone actually say they would actually WANT to leave in Detroit.

Muslim are you handicapped
This is a serious question

I'm just going to pick apart what you've said in this thread and others and explain to you why you deep down should not love Detroit.

I'm going to start with your irrational fear of being alone. Where you live (was it Riverside or Burbank?) there is a pretty low crime rate. In Detroit, the crime rate is what made it famous. They loving burn down buildings on Halloween. Do you think you are mature enough to handle that?
In fact, half the reason you seem to want to go to Detroit is because of how much of a stuffhole it is. You have not given us any valid reasons why you would want to go there, let alone move there. You went out of your way in the OP to provide loving pictures of the place and then you turned around to tell us all about how much you love it and how you want to live there.
you can't judge a city based on what you've seen.
Yes, you can judge a city based off of what you've seen of it, provided you've seen enough. And you and I have both seen more bad than good.

why wouldnt i judge a city without having lived there? do you just move across country at a whim to LEARN about a place? lol

welcome to the information age. the browser is right there in front of you.

Okay who are you bashing here? I honestly can't tell who that last statement is supposed to be insulting
