Author Topic: What considers someone a "famous blocklander"?  (Read 9567 times)

there is no comparable game to blockland. roblox cant handle the massive and detail builds we can. and im still just talking about vanilla brick building.
lego has tried dozens of times over 20 years and still cant come close to a true building game.

closest i have seen (not video game-like, but realistic master lego building) are modded up CAD programs, using lego-type models.
but those require an even more super computer, and expensive software.

when i think of blockland, i am imagining those adult lego fans that join local lego clubs in their city. just millions of bricks sorted in a room, and they are creating massive models to show off at lego cons.
-that is the next level in real lego fandom. but its incredibly unrealistic since you require a lot of time and money to do that.

blockland replaced the need for that. even those master builders with millions of bricks do not have access to 200k grey 2x4s if they need. they still are forced to build based on what is available.

i have seen things built on blockland that would put these professionals to shame at the conventions. unfortunately, we see less of those every day.

real life has us beat still because it has shaders AND maps

lol

well blockland has added skill difficulty because we can explore models in 1st person. that is a hell of a lot more detail and size needed.
lego sets generally pretend there is no inside. or have cramped 3 wall rooms to simulate space lol.

yeah but you cant build inside the maps in real life!

uhh?
every DUG a HOLE?

By either being useful to the community, doing something memorably stupid, or just by being a good guy in general.

Doing something that interests other players.

So that excludes people like Space Guy?

Anyone who's contributed anything to the community notable enough to have a recognizable name would be considered 'famous'. Isn't that how fame works in general?
I know of Space Guy, but what exactly does he do?

He's given us a lot of mods in the past that helped develop Blockland. I'd say as modders and scripters, if they give us something that drastically helps and improves the game, it's worth being famous over. if you're just making a bunch of the same cars, there's not really a need for your spot light.
