Author Topic: Mafia Madness Servers  (Read 10848 times)

I'm sorry, but the only thing I heard in this post is you crying about people making MM servers and making "bad" ones. Seriously, why the hell did you post this?

Did this really need to be posted?
Yes, because all his points were relevant and it's true. I don't go to mafia madness servers anymore because of reasons in OP as well as a few other reasons, i.e. cheaters. Chester is so-so, but Speedblade is good host according to my brother.

Honestly, the only Mafia Madness server I enjoyed was []-----[]'s

I suggest rereading the entire OP.

The only thing I heard while reading this was you venting about how much better your server is compared to other servers, and how other people shouldn't try if it isn't up to your standards.

I mean really, this wasn't needed at all.

You really didn't read the OP; at least, you didn't think about it for more than a second before making an angry post.
The OP outlines several issues with MM servers, most of them the exact reasons I would not go to a non-[]----[] hosted MM server. He never once promoted his own server, and even though he promoted []----[]'s and a few others, those were only for examples and comparison.

Please actually try to comprehend what someone is saying before replying to them in such a brash manner.
... or something like that.

Someone should seriously consider making an official topic with the rules laid out in a READABLE format instead of forcing the player to go through commands and memorize each one.

I joined my first Mafia Madness a couple of months ago and left 3 minutes later because the entire list of rules was a train wreck. Why are there so many rules? Why is it in command form? Why do I have to end up memorizing it, or dealing with the clusterforget of chatting in the servers to reread it again, otherwise I'll eventually get kicked or banned from the server for breaking one of the rules, in which I didn't read because I have to say a million loving commands so I can understand one gamemode?

I support this topic. Don't play any Mafia Madness servers, unless you have a patience of a loving Harvard graduate to read everything about the gamemode.

It really isn't that difficult.

I take it you are lazy to read all of the rules, or you're just bad at memorizing. It may seem like a lot of rules, but most of the "rules" are just helping you with the game. The only real rules list is the Offenses.
I am not attempting to insult you, this is just what I think.

They aren't all rules. Most of it is telling you how to play the game and what different roles/commands are. If you had read through it you would know this.

Why is it in command form?
The game is too complicated to have the rules be made in any other form, this is the most efficient way of doing it. Again, you would know this if you had read through the rules and played a couple rounds.

You don't have to memorize anything, not even I have memorized the rules. You should have read through the rules, then caught on to what everyone else was doing, like most of the smart players do when they join my server. Honestly after like 30 minutes you should understand how it works (if you don't go and break rules that you just read).

There are only 6 required commands and it takes MAYBE 6 or 7 minutes to read, which you can do while waiting for the round to end. Stop being lazy and just read the rules. It's not the servers fault, it's yours, so stop blaming everyone but yourself.

From reading this, I am guessing that you don't even know what the OP is even talking about. I'm also going to go ahead and say that you probably couldn't read and understand the rules because of you being unable to read the OP.

What? Since when does graduating from Harvard give you more patience than everyone else?

Seriously, I have seen 10 year olds read all of the rules and play the game correctly.

What more people need to understand is that Mafia Madness just isn't self-sufficient like other gamemodes out there. MM is a delicate little flower that needs to be treated with care and handled the exactly right way, but if it is done right it is a beautiful thing and it's a lot of fun; fun enough to warrant all the pregame reading and struggle that goes into perfecting it.

A good MM server had cooperative players as well. People need to know what they're getting into so they can uphold the game any way they can. That's why the rules list is so long. It simply demands more out of it's players.

If that's the server you were talking about, I think it was "Chester The Molester's Mafia: Madness Returns". And I am pretty sure he stole the name of the server from someone. =/
actually, i set that name on his server when he adminned me on it, the servername was originally mine

There's a method to it's madness.

This is Chester The Molester here. You see, you could just HELP the host/admins on how to host instead of just leaving them in the dirt. Besides, if people enjoy how the host is doing it, let it be.

It isn't my responsibility to go around to every MM server and teach everyone how to host it.
