Author Topic: Fab's non stuffty computer specs  (Read 2744 times)

So I dont have a clue to build a custom computer, and its a pre-built with the same price as a custom, I want to run BF3 atleast on medium, here are the specs:

CPU Intel Ivy Bridge Core I3 3220 3.30GHz Dual Box

Gigabyte (Ivy-Bridge) | GA-H61M-DS2 (MotherBoard)

RAM Corsair 4GB 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance

Hard Disk SATA 3.0 HDD 500GB 7200RPM

GPU GeForce GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 128-bit

Power supply Corsair 500W | CX 500

Case Coolermaster Elite 334u

is this good enough? I will still buy it.

Should be, but you'll probably want to up to 8 gigs of RAM. However, I dunno much about graphics cards, so that is still up for debate. But the rest should be fine.

Your CPU could be strained a bit during bf3, but you should be able to play it very nicely at medium or higher.

4GB RAM to 8GM RAM, k.

4 is enough for a budget gaming computer

the gtx 650 is a bust for its price. get the gtx 650 Ti BOOST, it performs a ton better for not much higher in a price increase

Give me a price limit. I will give you something nice

$1000 USD. Intel i3. What the forget are you doing?

get a GPU with at least 1.5GB or 2GB

Don't listen to this. VRAM doesn't matter in the slightest in terms of performance.

I can change the 8gb Ram for 650TI, what do??

Well technically it does... More VRAM allows the GPU to load more textures in easily.

it does matter, not a lot but it does matter.  VRAM greatly affects texture settings mostly though.  i have a gtx660ti with 3GB and i never worry about texture quality.

this is my problem with the setup too.  OP go with an i5, don't go for a dual core if you're aiming for BF3 on medium at least.

How much is 2500 to USD?

If you're too cheap to get an i5-3570k (better because of futureproofing and overclocking), get an i5-3350P for around $180
