Author Topic: Computer being stupid.  (Read 650 times)

Hey guys, I've recently been having a problem with a computer that I built. If I try to run a game, or have too many tabs open in chrome, or just are using the computer regularly, it will sometimes start to do what I've been calling "skipping". For about ten minutes the computer will begin to freeze up for a second every two seconds, or so. Does anybody know what this is/means? How can I fix it? I'll post the .txt from the save info button in DxDiag for my specs.

I have tried defragmenting the hard drive, scanning for viruses, and updating the drivers. None of this has worked.

It might be running too hot. Try cleaning it out or improving the cooling system. Make sure that it isn't placed on carpet.

It might need more cooling gell on the processor, so I'll check if it's running out, but I put a lot on when I first put it together. Also I don't think it's because I run it on a carpet or it's just overheating in gerneral. Also my chassis is the NZXT Phantom, if that helps anyone.
