Author Topic: tor websites compromised, host of some tor sites arrested  (Read 14675 times)

It's pretty much like a VPN/Anonymouse like thing. You use it, and no one knows what you're doing or who you are.

What's TOR?
Quote
Tor (originally short for The Onion Router)[5] is free software for enabling online anonymity. Tor directs Internet traffic through a free, worldwide volunteer network consisting of more than three thousand relays[6] to conceal a user's location or usage from anyone conducting network surveillance or traffic brown townysis. Using Tor makes it more difficult to trace Internet activity, including "visits to Web sites, online posts, instant messages and other communication forms", back to the user [7] and is intended to protect users' personal privacy, freedom, and ability to conduct confidential business by keeping their internet activities from being monitored.

In a crackdown that FBI claims to be about hunting down child enthusiasts, half of the onion sites in the TOR network has been compromised, including the e-mail counterpart of TOR deep web, TORmail.
Damnit, Furling. You really pushed it this time.

fuuuuuck

I wonder if silk road is down, gonna check

I think the FBI has really pushed it.

On top of shutting down the tor websites, they also injected a javascript malware exploit that would attach to anyone who visited the site and report them to the FBI through a permanent tracking cookie.

I don't go to the deep web, but I still think the FBI is trying too hard.

Hopefully you guys aren't child enthusiasts

Well it's obviously not the actual link.

I just saw it on Wikipedia, they should remove it.

Hopefully you guys aren't child enthusiasts
