Author Topic: Further hacking? (godmode)  (Read 10552 times)

I was playing Zapk's Rising Lava and we were playing on the castle map.

MARBLE MAN managed to live throughout the rising lava, despite being within the castle, which the lava completely overcomes.

MARBLE MAN said this over RTB after the incident;

Quote
[23:45:31] MARBLE MAN: wow
[23:45:34] MARBLE MAN: is psp a badmin
[23:45:37] MARBLE MAN: because I think he is

And a few of the players in the server claimed he admitted to hacking over RTBC.

Shortly before this, he was using the server to show off some script in which he makes an attempt at the admin password, and rejoins as fast as possible after being kicked for failed guesses.

It would seem to me he has been screwing with Blockland's core since he admitted to somehow connecting different Blockland versions and having the players able to connect to each one, (even v0002 according to him), this sounds ridiculous to me, but then again, I am not a game programmer.

I said to him something along the lines of "You know Badspot wouldn't be okay with that right?"
And he said "Well, I already did it."

He sent this video at the same time of talking about it.

This could all be just a misunderstanding, so try not to jump to conclusions.

Noedit; forgot to add Psp perma banned him from the server after he was caught doing the suspected hack.

cmon marble man WE LIKED THE SAME ANIME HOW COULD YOU DO THIS

He unplugged his router or has a lag switch, he said he cut his connection.

Damage is still applied to the player object server-sided, and the player will die if it takes too much damage.

I don't think cutting your connection would change that, I've been able to kill lagging players in the past.

Noedit; But unless there is something special about the water that means his player, both server sided and client sided did not receive damage, I don't know of how he got around it.

Ugh, what the hell MARBLE?

we still do like the same anime

has a lag switch, he said he cut his connection.

this has nothing to do with it, are you kidding?

Oh, that connecting thing with v0002, is just TCP objects
there is no real hacking going on there

that's like complaining to people using RTB on v20

You can't admit to doing something wrong and then try to claim innocent, it just doesn't work that way

I'm pretty sure using a lag switch is still revokable.

What does the process of connecting 'all the versions' involve?

How exactly can you connect to each version within one-another?

Step by step to connecting 2 versions of blockland together:
1. Code a tcp client
2. Code a tcp server
3. start listening a tcp server on whatever port you feel like
4. have the client connect to that tcp server
done

I'm pretty sure using a lag switch is still revokable.
meh, i've seen quite a few people use lag switches
wouldn't be surprised if it is

??
I used a lag switch
then said that the multiplayer script isn't hacking

What isn't working here?

yeah whatever completely natural glitch you used it's enough to make you a forgetface for abusing it
