every game on origin you have a key you can view and write down. making the game forever yours. you can even legally torrent yourself up a copy of the game to use with your key.
steam, very few games are you given keys of true ownership. steam is more heavily a pro-publisher drm whore then EA's origin is.
the real origin hate came from it being new and inconvenient to all the kids who assumed every game on earth must come from a single program.
there was never anything bad about it.
if you want lower prices for everything, then EVERY publisher should have its own program.
